Mumbai, Sept 4: A trainee air hostess was found dead at her apartment in a Mumbai suburb last evening. She was 25.

Rupal Ogrey, who hailed from Chhattisgarh, had relocated to Mumbai in April after successfully securing a position with Air India. She shared her residence in an upscale housing complex in Andheri with her sister and her boyfriend, who had gone to their hometown.

The police have taken into custody a 40-year-old man employed as a sweeper within the complex. Currently, investigators are underway.

"The primary suspect, identified as Vikram Atwal, has been apprehended, and security footage from the housing complex is under scrutiny for any potential leads," media reports said, quoting police. A team of 12 officers has been assembled to track down additional information regarding the case.

Authorities are also questioning Vikram Atwal's wife, who is employed as a housekeeper within the same housing complex, as part of their investigative efforts.

Alarmed by Rupal's failure to answer their calls, her family members inquired with her friends in Mumbai to check on her. When her friends arrived at her residence, they were met with a locked door. Subsequently, they notified the police, who entered the apartment and discovered Ms. Ogrey in a state of distress, lying amidst a pool of blood. She was urgently transported to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals declared her dead upon arrival.
