BMC Waives Out Lifting Fees for Green Garbage, C&D Waste Till Sept Through SAFA App
Bhbaneswar, August 21: The Contracts Committee of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation in presence of Mayor Sulochana Das , Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange has discussed on different project activities.
"Prioritising the sanitation need of the communities in the season the city authority has engaged 12 to 15 numbers of vehicles in each zone for lifting of extra garbage dumping and C& D waste," said the Commissioner.
Even two excavators have been provided to cater to emergencies. Citizens have to utilise the provision of SAFA Bhubaneswar app for the required service. On certain observations the house discussed for urgent lifting of extra garbage being piled up that are creating allied troubles due to rainy day.
With an objective of involving city dwellers in enhancing city’s cleanliness drive and encouraging use of “SAFA Bhubaneswar App” as one stop sanitation solution; the authorities of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) have waived out lifting charges of green garbage and C & D waste. The facility is available to citizens till end of September 2023.
Considering the volume of green garbage produced in rainy season and to prevent obstructions in drains due to road side dumping, the house members in contracts committee meeting today landed with such decision to cooperate citizens. The facility can be available to the citizens through “SAFA Bhuabneswar App” being used for different municipal services. This will keep a record of citizens’ pro-activeness for making their city clean. Other than these, the paid services through the App remain unchanged.
On the other hand, fine collected from violators for repeated and gross insanitation behaviour will be through POS (point of sale) machine only. This will keep real time account of fine collected and maintain transparency. Violators will be provided the auto generated receipt as a token of proof. The mandate will be enforced shortly and team will be equipped in this regard.
However the house has passed two major projects namely; 1- Providing paver block in conservancy lane at Saheednagar in Cluster No.-30 (Lane No-37 to Lane No-50) in ward No-30 amounting Rs. 1.34 Cr.
2- Providing paver block in conservancy lane at Satyanagar & Press Colony area (Lane No-1 to Lane No-13) in wart No-34 at about Rs.1.41 Cr.
Other attendees of the meeting include Addl. Commissioner Laxmikanta Sethi, City Er. Arun Ku. Nayak, DC Corporation Sapan Ku. Nanda, Stading committee chairpersons Amareash Jena, Biranchi Narayan Mahasupakar, Bharati Singh, K. Shanti and Puspanjali Sethy.
