This International Route From Bhubaneswar Is A Big Hit; Know Here

Bhubaneswar, Sept 4: The Biju Patnaik International Airport has seen a steady rise in international passenger traffic with the introduction of flights to Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok from mid-2023.

International flights to places such as Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur had stopped operating since the pre-pandemic period, depriving people in the State availing the benefit of direct international connectivity.

The Odisha government stepped in to end this drought and ensure direct international flights from the city. In May this year, private carrier Indigo began to operate direct flights to Dubai thrice a week. This was followed by direct flights twice a week to Bangkok and Singapore.

Recent Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DCA) data of the April-June quarter reveal that there has been healthy growth of outbound international traffic from Bhubaneswar. As expected, the Dubai flight has remained almost full throughout.
