Balasore SP’s Parents Robbed In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, July 3: Balasore SP Sagarika Nath’s parents were looted of their valuables late on Sunday evening while returning to their residence here.

Reports said two bike-born miscreants waylaid her parents in a car and even assaulted them as they tried to offer resistance, snatching gold chain and money. The police have launched a manhunt. The parents stay at an apartment complex near AMRI hospital.

The miscreants caused damage to the car as well and fled from the spot after the locals gathered, leaving behind the bike. The parents later visited the Bharatpur police station and lodged an FIR. The bike has been seized by the police.

The theft incident has once again brought to fore the rising crime graph in the city despite enhanced patrolling by the police. Chain snatching incidents are being reported with alarming regularity, the latest taking place at Vani Vihar a few days ago.
