Bhubaneswar Metro Gets Its CEO

Bhubaneswar, August 3: The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) has got its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with former East Coast Railway chief project director Siba Prasad Samantaray being appointed to the position for one year.

The appointment of Samantaray comes as a geotechnical investigation for the proposed metro project is underway and project execution is expected to commence by the year end.

Special Secretary of Housing and Urban Department, Prasanna Kumar Sarangi has also been appointed as the General Manager (Administration) of the corporation.

The ambitious metro project will connect the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, commencing from the Airport to Trisulia and touching places like Vani Vihar, Jayadev Vihar, Patia and Nandankanan.

Plans are afoot to expand the metro network to Puri and Khurda in the next phase.
