Govt Convenes Special Session Of Parliament From Sept 18 to 22
New Delhi, Aug 31: The Union Government on Thursday announced the convening of a special session of Parliament from September 18 to 22.
The announcement was made by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, but gave no further details, triggering speculations about the agenda of the short session.
“Special Session of Parliament (13th Session of 17th Lok Sabha and 261st Session of Rajya Sabha) is being called from 18th to 22nd September having five sittings. Amid Amrit Kaal looking forward to having fruitful discussions and debate in Parliament,” Joshi said on X,” the Minister said.
The session will be held shortly after the conclusion of the G20 event in Delhi. The Monsoon session of Parliament had concluded on August 11. The session is also coming against the backdrop of the political parties warming up for the Lok Sabha polls in 2024. The Opposition-led I.N.D.I.A alliance is meeting in Mumbai on Thursday to fine tune election strategies even as NDA partners are also engaged in discussions to finalise their poll strategies.
