Bhubaneswar Airport Handled Record 4 Lakh Passenger Movement In June

Bhubaneswar, July 6: The Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) handled over 4 lakh passenger movement in June, placing it among the top 15 busiest airports in the country.

As per the data shared by the airport on its Twitter handle, the airport has clocked 4.03 lakh passenger movements during the month.

On June 7, the airport saw the maximum number of 14,307 passenger movement while the average flow remained at an average of 13,500 movements.

The airport is handling roughly 90 aircraft every day (both arrival and departure), connecting to 22 cities across the country and three countries. The Bhubaneswar-Delhi route has emerged as the busiest route with 64 flight movements in a week.

The spike in passenger traffic has come at a time when BPIA has seen the introduction of international flights to Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok with the financial support of the Odisha Government. As per reports, the Dubai flight is generating healthy patronage.
