Bengaluru Man Allegedly Kills Live-In Partner With Pressure Cooker
Bengaluru, Aug 28: A 29-year-old man has been apprehended by the police after allegedly killing his live-in partner with a pressure cooker at a rented residence in the city. Authorities state that the incident took place at 5 pm on Saturday during a heated dispute triggered by the man's suspicions of his partner's infidelity.
The individuals involved, Vaishnav and Deva, aged 24, originally hailing from Kerala, had shared a living space in Bengaluru for a span of two years. Their acquaintance originated from their college days, and they were both employed at a sales and marketing firm located in Bengaluru.
The unfortunate event transpired as Vaishnav and Deva engaged in a confrontation, wherein Vaishnav allegedly employed a pressure cooker as a lethal instrument, resulting in Deva's demise. The incident came to light when Deva's sister failed to establish contact via phone and subsequently reached out to a neighbour for assistance, who promptly alerted the police.
As reported by ANI, Vaishnav initially evaded authorities following the occurrence; however, law enforcement successfully traced and apprehended him subsequently.
"I met the woman's parents when I visited the scene. They informed me about the ongoing conflicts between the two over the past several days. The family had also endeavoured to find a resolution,” said CK Baba, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Bengaluru South-East division
Police officials have registered a homicide case against Vaishnav, and ongoing investigations are underway to shed light on further details surrounding the incident.
