ACME Group To Set Up Green Hydrogen & Green Ammonia Project In Odisha
New Delhi, Aug 26: ACME Group, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, announced a land agreement with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone (TSSEZL) spread over 343 acres of land within the Gopalpur Industrial Park located in Odisha to set up a green hydrogen and green ammonia project.
The core of ACME Group's plan revolves around the establishment of a cutting-edge 1.3 MTPA green ammonia production facility. It will rely on the production of green hydrogen and will be fuelled by renewable energy sources, aligning with ACME Group's commitment to sustainability.
In a statement issued by the company, it emphasized that the green ammonia produced through this innovative facility will be earmarked for export to markets in both the Western and Eastern regions, utilizing the existing infrastructure of the Gopalpur port facilities. ACME Group is forging a collaborative partnership with Japan's renowned IHI Corporation to bring this transformative project to fruition.
"This initiative stands as a cornerstone in our efforts to provide Make in India green hydrogen and green ammonia to both local and global markets, characterized by their competitive pricing." said chairman of ACME Group, Manoj K. Upadhyay.
The sentiments were mirrored by the preliminary agreement signed by IHI Corporation during the Invest Odisha Summit in Tokyo, indicating their commitment to invest in Odisha's sustainable energy projects.
This project marks a pivotal milestone for the region as it establishes the inaugural green hydrogen project in Odisha. Hemant Sharma, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department and Chairman of IDCO & IPICOL, Government of Odisha, envisions a future where Odisha thrives as a central hub for green hydrogen and green ammonia, driving the state to a leadership role in the green fuel economy. To catalyze this vision, a suite of exceptional incentives is being offered.
