Special Mo Bus Service for Alarnath Darshan

Bhubaneswar: Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has launched a special Mo Bus service catering to the needs of citizens and tourists during the auspicious occasion of Ratha Jatra. With the aim of ensuring a hassle-free and convenient journey for everyone, CRUT has initiated special service, connecting Route. No. 07: Master Canteen to Bramhagiri and Route. No. 08: Baramunda to Bramhagiri. 

RathaJatra holds immense religious significance and attracts devotees from far and wide. Understanding the importance of festivities around RathaYatra and the subsequent surge in transportation requirements, CRUT has taken this step to provide a dedicated public transport services to Bramhagiri for Darshan of Mahaprabhu during the Anasara period. 

According to tradition, during the Anasara period (a fortnight after Snana Purnima) the Trinity becomes ill and goes to stay inside and on the 15th day, undergoes treatment for their illness in Puri. However, during this Anasara period a devotee of Lord Jagannath gets equal `punya’ by seeing Lord Alarnath, the deity at Brahmagiri. Alarnath Temple is located at Brahmagiri, around 25 km from the pilgrim town Puri. Along with Lord Alarnath, the devotees will also have the fortune to have the `darshan’ of Lord Ananta Basudeva in place of Lord Balabhadra and Devi Bhubaneswari in place of Devi Subhadra.

Apart from this, the idols of Lord Dolagobinda, Lord Nrusingha, Lord Madanamohan, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Goddess Bhudevi, Goddess Sridevi and the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu are also being worshipped at the Alarnath shrine and thousands of devotees throng the place everyday.

The service started on the World Environment Day, 2023 onwards. The routes cover prominent locations and ensure maximum accessibility for passengers. CRUT is dedicated to delivering excellent public transport services and this initiative is a testament to the commitment of the company to serve the people.
