Major Road Caves in, Spreads Panic in Puri

Puri, July 24: Passengers of a bus escaped unhurt as after it passed a stretch on the Holy City’s Chakratitha Road, a major portion of the road caved in as a huge creator like opening was formed on the site.

According to sources, the unfortunate incident occurred near Bedi Hanuman Temple. The entire traffic on the busy Chakratirtha Road came to a grinding halt just after the incident. The civic and district administration has closed the traffic on both the ends causing huge inconvenience to the coming tourists and the local residents of Puri.

The reason behind the mishap, according to local residents might be due to bad construction quality as the major road belongs to the state agencies. While the Holy City is in the focus of the State Government for many futuristic and visionary projects to help develop tourism sector in future, the caving in incident of a major road has created panic among the people.
