Know The Top 5 Preferred Countries For Indian Students

A significant 1.3 million Indian students from 2017 to 2022 pursued higher education abroad, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

They are studying in 79 countries globally, with the top five destinations being the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and Saudi Arabia.

These statistics were presented in the Monsoon Session of Parliament:

1. United States: Indian students favour the US for its prestigious universities, diverse academic programs, and research and career opportunities.
2. Canada: Known for its Express Entry system and affordable education, Canada attracts Indian students, with many provinces offering the chance of permanent residency to graduates.
3. UAE: The UAE's status as a business hub, safety, connectivity, and relaxed labor laws make it popular for international students.
4. Australia: Its world-class education system, cultural diversity, and post-study work opportunities draw Indian students, with government support and strong student rights protection.
5. Saudi Arabia: Saudi public universities offer fully-funded scholarships, research grants, and supportive services for international students, making it an appealing destination.
