Its INDIA Vs Modi In 2024 Polls

Bengaluru/New Delhi, July 18:  The Opposition parties have decided to name their front as Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) to take on the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls in 2024.

The parties which met here today, have also decided to hold the next meeting in Mumbai and set up the poll campaign management office in Delhi.

Conversely, the NDA partners also met in New Delhi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prepare a joint strategy to defeat the opposition alliance in the elections.

“Our’s is a time tested alliance which seeks to further national progress and fulfil regional aspirations,,” said the PM at the meeting which was attended by 38 NDA partners, news reports said.

Media reports said the name INDIA, representing the opposition block, was arrived after much deliberations at the day 2 of the meeting. Reports suggested that the acronym was suggested by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, following which it was unanimously accepted.

The political developments both in New Delhi and Bengaluru on a Tuesday marks an intriguing phase of pre-election campaign as it has set a perfect stage for both the political blocks to lock horn in what could be described as one of the most fascinating elections to be held in  the country in less than 10 months.

"This fight is between INDIA and Narendra Modi,”said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at the Bengaluru meet.

"We are defending the Constitution, voice of Indians and the idea of India. You know what happens to anyone who wants to fight the idea of India... The fight is between NDA and INDIA, Narendra Modi and INDIA, his ideology and INDIA. India always wins all fights," said Gandhi.
