Heavy Rainfall Likely Over Odisha Till Sept 15

Bhubaneswar, Sept 12: Several parts of Odisha are likely to receive copious amounts of rainfall during the next three to four days under the influence of a low-pressure area, the Indian Meteorological Department said on Tuesday.

It said that a cyclonic circulation is currently lying over the Central parts of the Bay of Bengal and adjoining the north Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, a Low low-pressure area is likely to form over the Northwest & adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours. Subsequently, it is likely to become more marked and move west-north-westwards across south Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh coast.

According to the Met Department, light to moderate and fairly widespread rainfall or thunderstorms and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall activity is very likely over Odisha during the 12th-15^th.
