EKAMRA Project Bhumi Pujan on June 28

Bhubaneswar, June 26: The much-awaited foundation stone laying ceremony of the ambitious Ekamra Kshetra Amenities and Monuments Revival Plan will be held on June 28 in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other distinguished guests.
For the Bhumi Pujan Utsav, a three-day-long event has already been planned by the city authorities which will start today as a ``yajnya’’ at 7.30 pm. The event will be available live on the electronic, digital and social media platforms as the project will showcase the commitment of the State Government to revive the architectural heritage of Ekamra Kshetra, the old name of the capital city and also to promote the heritage wealth of the city across the globe.
The three-day-long event will include travellers and devotees as they would be busy with the activities releated to the religious essence of the Old Town area involving Lingaraj Temple, Ananta Vasudev, Mukteswar, Bindusagar and other small monuments. Apart from floral decorations, a Sky Projection near BMC Market Complex, Light and Sound Shows at Bindusagar and classical dance programmes will also be organised over these days.
While a project model and information exhibition will also be organised  to disseminate the general public on the development work in and around the heritage corridors of Ekamra Kshetra, a ``Bhajan Samaroh’’ (event for devotional songs) will also be organised from 5.30 pm to 10.00 pm on June 27 and 28. In this event local and national level acclaimed performers will participate and help to create an atmosphere of devotion around.The Ekamra Kshetra Amenities and Monuments Revival Plan include construction of Lingaraj Entry plaza, Bhajan Mandap, Heritage Park and Kedar Gouri plaza, complete pedestrianisation of the Bindu Sagar road stretch, rejuvenation of Bindu Sagar and other holy ponds, Lingaraj Heritage Project, redevelopment of Kedargouri and Mukteswar temple premises, e-auto service, seamless traffic management facility etc.
