Chandrayaan-3 Launching Likely on July 14

Bengaluru, July 7: The much-awaited moon mission of India Chandrayaan-3 will see the launching of the spacecraft on July 14, as per sources at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Earlier the launching was scheduled to happen on July 13.

The spacecraft for Chandrayaan-3 will take off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 2:35 pm, on that day as announced by ISRO scientists as all formalities of the transportation of the spacecraft and rocket to the launch pad is over. This time the rocket is LVM-3 or Launch Vehicle Mark-3.

The new mission Chandrayaan-3 might get delayed if the weather conditions would not be favourable on July 14, informed ISRO sources. This will happen after the Chandrayaan-2 mission, which, unfortunately got a bad experience of crash landing on the lunar surface nearly four years’ ago during 2019.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission, as per ISRO sources will try to have explorations along the South Polar Region of the moon and would also ensure a comfortable landing experience, which, in a way might position India’s capabilities at a new altitude and the space research market across the world. It can be mentioned here that India has registered itself in the rare club of four nations, who have landed spacecrafts on the lunar surface.
