Adopt Digital Payment On Campus; UGC To Universities & Colleges

New Delhi, July 5: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all universities and colleges in the country to adopt digital payment for all financial transactions such as payments and receipts.

It has also stressed the conduct of awareness programmes for the promotion of digital payment at campuses in collaboration with digital payment ecosystem partners such as banks, fintech, PSPs etc.

The communication to the vice-chancellors and college principals also states that widespread publicity should be mounted through social media and hoardings, banners, posters etc.

The communication reminded all about the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology initiating a comprehensive ‘digital payment utsav’ campaign during India’s G20 presidency that will go up to October 9.
