Illegal Temple Demolished Inside Govt Quarters in Kharvel Nagar, 400 Sq Feet Land Recovered
Bhubaneswar, August 30: As per a scheduled eviction programme by the Central Eviction Monitoring Cell (CEMC) programme, the Enforcement Team consisting officers and staff of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) proceeded demolished an illegal temple on the premises of a Government quarters under Kharavel Nagar police station, yesterday.
The demolition of unauthorised construction was carried out at Government quarters No.4/1, Type-II, Unit-III, Bhubaneswar and the eviction requisition was made by the Rent Officers, General Administration and Personal Grievance Department under its Director of Estate office in the State Capital.
The eviction programme was carried out successfully despite heavy protests by the encroachers. During the process one room of reinforced cement concrete (RCC) structure, an RCC building of 30X20 feet dimension as part of a Tarini temple was demolished.
During the eviction drive one excavator from BDA and one from BMC was engaged. It was learnt that among the officers Debaraj Sethi OSD Enfocerment,BDA, Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty Liaison Officer BDA, Amiya Kumar Das, Assistant Director GA & PG Department, Jackson Kissn GA Rent Staff, Rasmi Ranjan Sahoo, ASI Kharavel Nagar PS were present.
Apart from the officials Enforcement Squads No. 22,24 & 25 of BDA & BMC SEZ and one section from Reserve Police and additional one section of lady police were present during the drive.
