Bhubaneswar, August 24: India gathered praises all across the world for the soft landing of Vikram, the lander, on the South pole of the lunar surface. Now the rover Pragyan is out and it has started clicking photographs as it would move 1 cm per second and through its camera India will now see the lunar topography.

However, interestingly, during the next 14 days after the successful landing, the six-wheeled Pragyan lander and rover module of Chandrayaan-3 will provide data to the scientists of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). As after the 14 days, there will be darkness on the moon, the rover and lander in unison would only work for the said 14 days only as they are made to work during lunar daytime only. After that they will be inactive.

MISSION TO SUN :

ISRO Chief S Somanath after the success of Chandrayaan-3 has said that the national space agency will soon be ready with a solar mission and it is likely to be launched during the first week of September. Named "Mission Aditya’’, the journey is aimed at knowing more about the sun, which is the central force for the entire solar system, of which our mother Earth is just a small part.

Hinting at another more bigger challenge in space research and space expedition, the ISRO Chief has  said ``We are also planning a mission by the end of September or October to demonstrate our crew module and crew escape capability, which will be followed by many test missions until we launch our first manned mission to space (Gaganyaan), possibly by 2025,’’
