Check Before You Pay Online: Transport Dept Issues Alert on Fake E-Challan Link

Bhubaneswar, August 29: The State Transport Authorities have informed the general public of Odisha on a new form of scam by fraudsters by sending fake e-challan to gullible vehicle owners. The e-challans are more or less similar, but if one will not check it throughly, then chances are there the link would land up the account holder in distress as the cheaters might digitally rob him/her through the e-link.

So if you ever get an e-challan, first check it (whether true/false) and after confirmation only pay the amount. The alert (as in the photo) also gives two samples in which one is the original link provided by the Parivahan link and the other the fake one. 

So when a link lands on your smart phone next time, before paying just have a check and then go for the click. A moment's error could make you regret the rest of your life. In case of any doubt one can also consult the local RTO office, as advised by the alert.
