Watch: SUV Rams Into A Bus, Six Killed
New Delhi, July 11: At least six people in an SUV travelling to Gurugram were killed in a head-on collision with a school bus at Ghaziabad on Tuesday morning.
The impact of the collision was so high that police had to use gas cutters to extract the bodies from the SUV. The bus veered off the highway in the impact, but no injuries were reported among the passengers. The incident took place in the Delhi-Meerut expressway.
The moment the accident took place has been captured in CCTV cameras, showing the intensity of the accident.
According to police, there were eight occupants in the SUV. While six died on the spot, two have sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to the hospital.
Police said the speeding SUV failed to negotiate the bus coming from the opposite direction. It was travelling in the wrong direction.
“The driver has been arrested, he is being questioned and stringent sections are being invoked in the FIR," Dehat Shubham Patel, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ghaziabad was quoted as saying by NDTV.
