Several Newborns in Kendrapada Dist Named 'Chandrayaan' On Historic Wednesday
Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: As India regaled at the successful landing of the Chandrayaan 3 on the Moon on Wednesday, many parents of newborn babies decided to make the historic moment even more memorable, naming their little ones after the spacecraft.
As many as four babies (three boys and a girl) in Kendrapara district, whose arrival on Earth and the space probe’s landing on the Moon happened at the same time, were named Chandrayaan.
Other parents also expressed interest in naming their children after Chandrayaan, media reports said.
This reflects a local tradition of naming children after significant events, as seen with previous cyclones. The parents consider it a privilege to celebrate India's lunar mission by naming their children in honour of Chandrayaan, reports said.
