School of History, GMU & INTACH Organise Heritage Walk in Sambalpur
Sambalpur, September 6: A heritage walk was organised today jointly by School of History, Gangadhar Meher University and INTACH, Sambalpur chapter. Students walked from the University in a rally holding banner, and reached VSS Town Hall.
Dr. Atul Kumar Pradhan, Head of Department, School of History gave welcome speech. Prof. N. Naharaju, Vice-Chancellor of the University while speaking about importance of history told that Indian society could sustain due to it's values, rich culture, tradition and history.
Students are the future of the country have a great responsibility of carrying it forward. Dipak Kumar Panda, Co-convenor, INTACH, Sambalpur chapter described about the architecture and history of Victoria Hall, renamed as Veer Surendra Sai Town Hall.
Thereafter students went in a rally to Bezbaruah House. The Vice-Chancellor also joined the march with students. Here author and historian Dipak Panda spoke about INTACH, its motto and contributions, also about Sahityarathi Lakhminath Bezbaruah and Bezbaruah House.
