Bhubaneswar, June 5: In a remarkable achievement for Odisha’s rural education landscape, nine students from Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) have cleared the highly competitive JEE Advanced 2025 examination, earning their place in the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The results, announced on June 2, 2025, highlight the exceptional academic rigor and quality of education provided by the state-run OAVs, which aim to deliver world-class learning opportunities to students in rural and semi-urban areas.

A post on X by the official OAVS handle celebrated the achievement: “9 (Nine) students who have passed Class-XII from different OAVs in 2024-25 academic session have come out successful in JEE (Advanced) Examination, 2025. They have qualified for getting admission to IITs.”

The Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS), established in 2015 under the Societies Registration Act 1860, operates 314 English-medium CBSE-affiliated schools across every block in Odisha. These schools are designed to provide quality education to talented students, particularly from underprivileged backgrounds, and the success of these nine students in JEE Advanced 2025 underscores the initiative’s impact.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced, conducted by IIT Kanpur this year on May 18, 2025, is renowned as one of the toughest entrance exams globally, with only 48,248 out of 1,80,200 candidates qualifying nationwide.
