*Low Pressure Brewing in Bay of Bengal; May Bring Rain to Odisha\'s Coast, Aid Monsoon Progress*

*Bhubaneswar, May 22:* A low-pressure area is likely to form over the west-central and adjoining north-north Bay of Bengal around May 27, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its latest bulletin.
The system is expected to become more marked in the subsequent two days, potentially triggering rainfall over Odisha's coastal districts and assisting in the advance of the southwest monsoon into the state.
According to the IMD, conditions are turning favourable for the southwest monsoon to advance into Kerala within the next two to three days. The early formation of the low-pressure system could help accelerate its northward progress toward Odisha.
Typically, the monsoon reaches Odisha between June 5 and 10. However, meteorologists suggest that the impending low-pressure development could influence an earlier onset this year.
