This milkman is unlike any other in his tribe. For, he is counted among the richest in town today and is a figure of inspiration for many who wish to make it big in rural India.

Meet Prakash Imde -- a well-known name in the Solapur region of Maharashtra. People still remember him as a modest farmer back in 1990s who struggled to make ends meet. But as they say, fortune smiles at those who devote life to dreams with passion. Imde chased his dreams in all earnest and is a successful entrepreneur today.

Imde’s Rs 1 crore bungalow is also drawing considerable attention in his state and outside. The house is attracting attention ever since the local media began covering his successful farming journey that reads no less than a rags-to-riches story.

Fondly called bapu by the locals, Imde started cultivating on a piece of ancestral land in the early 90s to make ends meet but was challenged with low yields.

In 1998, he switched tracks, becoming a household milkman instead with only one cow named Lakshmi. And fortune smiled at him. As per an India Today report, he now runs a dairy firm with more than 150 cows, managed by family members. His firm produces over 1000 litres of milk a day. The report says the success of his venture is largely attributed to his skills, talent and entrepreneurial mindset. Imde has never sold a cow but has looked after them through good and hard times.

His entrepreneurial skills have drawn people from far and wide to visit his farm and learn a lesson or two about becoming successful in the dairy business.

Lakshmi remains close to his heart and his life-size statue finds a place on the roof of his bungalow.
