Hungarian Citizen Gets Back Stolen Mobile, Thanks to Swift Action by Bhubaneswar Police

Bhubaneswar, July 17: A Hungarian national, Ms. Birag Rekha Turi, was joyfully reunited with her stolen mobile phone this week, thanks to the swift and efficient response of the Nayapalli Police in Bhubaneswar. The incident, which occurred near IRC Village while Ms. Turi was en route to a dance class, had left her distressed, but the police’s prompt action ensured the recovery of her device within days.

According to reports, Ms. Turi’s mobile phone was snatched by a 19-year-old youth last week in a sudden act of theft. Determined to seek justice, she immediately lodged a complaint with the Nayapalli Police. Acting on her report, the police launched a rapid investigation, leveraging local intelligence and swift coordination to track down the culprit.

By Monday morning, July 14, 2025, the authorities had arrested the suspect, identified as Rihan, and successfully recovered the stolen phone.

“Our swift action and successful recovery of the phone enabled the foreign national to leave the country as scheduled on Monday,” a police officer stated, highlighting the efficiency of the operation. The retrieved mobile phone was promptly returned to Ms. Turi, who expressed her gratitude for the police’s dedication and professionalism. The timely resolution allowed her to continue her plans without further disruption.

The Nayapalli Police are now pursuing Rihan’s associate, who remains at large, as they work to fully resolve the case.
