Parents as Partners Programme Conducted in Schools: 1,778 institutions Under ST&SC Dev Dept Will be Covered

Bhubaneswar, September 9: The 1st edition of Parents as Partners (PaP) in schools of ST&SC Development Department has commenced on today. On the first date meeting has been organized in 229 schools in 17 districts. The Parents as Partners (PaP) meetings have been scheduled in six dates- 8th, 13th, 16th, 22nd, 25th and 26th of September 2023. 

Total 1,778 institutions of ST&SC Development Department will be covered under this programme. The parents as the major partners in the meeting have been shared with various schemes, entitlements, amenities etc. provided to the students in the schools and hostels of ST&SC Development Department.

The performance of the students in both in academic and cocurricular activities are also shared with the parents. The parents and other participants in the meeting have been shared with the information relating to various schemes and programme implemented by different Departments of State Govt. for the welfare of the people for which they are the beneficiaries also.

The Departments like Panchayatraj and Drinking Water, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Mission Shakti, W&CD, S&ME Departments are providing information through their
respective stalls installed in the school premises. 

Both parents and students are also participating in various competitions like rangoli, drawing, painting etc. organized during the PaP meeting. Cultural events are also organized to show the talents of their children to the parents. 

The first PaP will be conducted in all the SSD schools including standalone hostels like Anwesha, Konda Reddy Hostel and Naba Bharat Hostel in phased manner. At district level, the District Collectors are directly monitoring the meetings and the officers like CDO, Zilla Parishad, Sub Collectors, PA, ITDAs, DWOs, BDOs and other line Department officers are also participating in the programme.
